This was my first time making dumplings and they're the best I've ever had!

I would recommend buying pre-made dumpling wrappers!

Ingredients:

For the Filling

  • 300g Button or White Mushrooms

  • 2 Green Onions

  • 2 Garlic Cloves

  • 1 tsp Fresh Ginger (grated)

  • 1/4 head of Cabbage

  • 2 tbsp Sesame Oil

  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce

For the Wrappers

  • 2 cups All Purpose Flour + more for rolling

  • 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp Warm Water

  • 1 Pinch of Salt

Instructions:

For the filling...

Begin by heating the sesame oil in a pan. Once heated add the mushrooms, cabbage, green onion, ginger and garlic.

Cook for 5 minutes then add soy sauce and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and leave cool while preparing the wrappers.

For the wrappers...

Add all ingredients to a mixer with a dough hook until everything is combined.

Flour a clean, flat surface and split the dough in half. Roll out the dough as thin as possible. Use a cookie Cutter to cut circles in the dough. Repeat with the other half.

To assemble the dumplings take one wrapper and place it in the palm of your hand. Spoon 1 tbsp of filling in the centre then pinch and fold the outer edges together. There are many different ways to do this so google your favourite!

Once all the wrappers are used steam the dumplings for 6 minutes until transparent or fry them until golden brown and bubbly! Enjoy with Soy Sauce and eat hot!!

Optional:

Add them to a miso broth for a delicious vegan wonton soup!
